Deliana - Mesavlia Gorge

Deliana - Mesavlia Gorge
Deliana - Mesavlia Gorge (or Mesavlia - Deliana not to upset the inhabitants of Mesavlia!) is a very pleasant journey of about 1 hour. The length of the gorge is about 5 km. The entire route is via a rural road that runs parallel to a creek full of trees. Often, the road crosses the creek and when it moves from the left and when the right side. If we choose to do the route starting from Deliana, most of it is slightly uphill. The best choice for time to cross the spring (April, May), then the plants are blooming and the gorge is full of yellow flowers and plants decorate the area with green in all shades!

The canyon is suitable for children, enough to help when you need cross the creek:). Good - evil keep a second pair of shoes and socks in the car in case one of them "squelch" ...

You can find water in both entrances of the gorge.

The one entrance, the village Deliana is north of the second, the village Mesaflia and quickly accessible from Chania. So if our choice is to visit the canyon, the best option is through Deliana. But if the visit in a wider trip to Paleochora or Kandanos, then best option is to visit the Mesaflia in the street - Chania Kandanos - Paleochora.

If we start from Deliana will need to follow the national road Chania Kissamos Kolimbari the exit to go south to Nochia, astral, Deliana.

In Deliana to get to the entrance of the gorge will need to follow dirt road for about 2 km. There you will find space to park your car.

Following the path we can eat at a tavern in Deliana or better yet, go to the next village Panethimos located just one kilometer away. There you will find the tavern Drosopigi with delicious "homemade" food and plenty of room to play the children of friends!
