Deliana - Mesavlia Gorge

Deliana - Mesavlia Gorge (or Mesavlia - Deliana not to upset the inhabitants of Mesavlia!) is a very pleasant journey of about 1 hour. The length of the gorge is about 5 km. The entire route is via a rural road that runs parallel to a creek full of trees. Often, the road crosses the creek and when it moves from the left and when the right side. If we choose to do the route starting from Deliana, most of it is slightly uphill. The best choice for time to cross the spring (April, May), then the plants are blooming and the gorge is full of yellow flowers and plants decorate the area with green in all shades!

The canyon is suitable for children, enough to help when you need cross the creek:). Good - evil keep a second pair of shoes and socks in the car in case one of them "squelch" ...

Panethimos Kissamou- Tavern Drosopigi

The Panethimos is a small village in the municipality of Kissamos, Chania. It is about one kilometer from Deliana and about 30 km from Chania. It has a large square shaded by trees and is suitable for children to play without risking getting hitten by a car beacause rarely pass  from there! Next to the square is the Tavern Drosopigi where you will find high quality homemade food, Cretan cuisine and very good prices.

To get to Panethimo you have to follow the national road Chania-Kissamos and the exit to Kolimbari go south to Nochia, Astros, Deliana. We can combine our visit to the tavern with a walk in the area attractions and of course a little walk in the gorge of Deliana - Mesavlia that starts from the nearby village Deliana.

Before visiting the tavern it is advisable to contact the owners to book a table and order some tasty delicacy  such as "Cretan wedding pilaf." Ask to speak to Nick by calling 6930124661, 28240 91004.
